Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P)

Children can't learn, regulate their emotions or be relational when their hair is on fire and parents can't put out the fire when they keep aiming the hose at the smoke alarm. Learn the hidden needs underneath your child's behaviors. Join our next Circle of Security-Parenting Class.

About the event

Circle of Security-Parentingâ„¢(COS-P) provides a visual map of attachment and is based on decades of attachment theory. COS-Pâ„¢ principles include the following:

· Attachment problems in infancy and early childhood increases the probability of psychopathology later in life.

· Secure attachment relationships with caregivers are a protective factor for children, setting the foundation for social and emotional competency and promoting effective functioning of the stress response systems.

· The quality of the attachment can change.

Participants will learn to meet the need and address the behaviors as well as discover how to balance sensitive responding with taking charge.

Note: Circle of Security Parenting is an 8-Day;  16 hours course facilitated in 2 hour sessions. This class is being offered on a Saturday morning. Saturday evening class may be available pending the number of registrants.
